NMSU Chiles v El Paso Scorpions

March 3, 2013

It was another great day for rugby this past Saturday in Las Cruces, NM. The Scorpions came out with a slightly bruised team to face the NMSU Chiles. With some of the starters benched in order to recover from their "little boo boos" and to give some experience to some new players that have joined the squad this past year.

This game was a lot closer than expected, because the Chiles came out fighting. From beginning to end, there was tons of play from the forward pack and from the backs. Though the Scorpions had some new guys out, they were there to show what they could do and that they were coming after some starting spots. I'm glad to say that we have some depth going.

In the end, the Scorpions proved to be too much for the Chiles. The final score was 44-0. After the game, the teams put aside their differences and met in the middle of the field to give respect to each other for a hard fought game.

Next week, the Scorpions travel to match up against a strong rival the Las Vegas, NM Vatos. In order to win this match up the Scorps need to travel strong and mentally prepare for a battle.
