Scorpions Begin Spring 2014 Season!

February 27, 2014

The El Paso Scorpions have had a long break since the end of the Fall 2013 season. The Scorps had many ups and downs through out the first half with wins both in New Mexico and El Paso, Texas. They had a difficult loss to the Albq. Aardvarks. at the end of the fall, but look to get back on track. Tony DiNapoli who is the new head coach for the Scorpions since the beginning of Fall 2013, has put the team through some rigourous training which will undoubtably point the Scorps in the right direction for the playoffs.

The Scorpions had a friendly against a young UTEP Miners Rugby Club on the 1st of March. It was a tough match with a huge learning curve. Not only did UTEP go in with a young squad but the Scorpions were getting experience for the new additions that make up the team. Was a great way to determine what both teams need to work on and how to fix certain areas of their game.

This coming week the El Paso Scorpions will be facing the New Mexico Brujos who will travel down to El Paso to face off with the Scorps at Chamberino Rugby Pitch. This will be the season opener for the El Paso Scorpions who look to put some great rugby season together and head to playoffs in April. The game will be at 1:30 pm on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Chamberino Field in Anthony, New Mexico. It's not to far from Gadsden High School.
